Wash Away...

Wash away the pain, wash away the stains,

just wash it all again, wash it in these rains.

Let it fall like magic upon the dirty streets,

Let it fall so cool upon the dry and thirsty heat.

What if every raindrop was a gift God sent for you,

to make your pain stop and wash it all anew.

Wash away the pain, wash away the stains,

just wash it all again, wash it in these rains.

Catch it on your weary face let it fall in place,

like a shawl of grace to displace the hardness,

erase the darkness, replace it with promise,

 and bring healing through catharsis.

Wash away the pain, wash away the stains,

just wash it all again, wash it in these rains.

So let the rain showers fall on the spring flowers,

 giving them growing powers

resting on the bird's wing so small

let it wash yesterday, yes, let it wash it all away.

Wash away the pain, wash away the stains,

just wash it all again, wash it in these rains.
